1. Our approach
株式会社 GRAN NOAHS (GRAN NOAHS Co., Ltd., “we”) handles personal information in connection with Noah in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws.
2. Information we collect
Depending on the features you use, we collect the following information:
- Account information: authentication identifiers and email addresses
- Profile information: display name, profile image, biography, date of birth, and other information you enter
- Content and interactions: posts, comments, chats, attached images, videos, audio and files, and community and event information
- Usage information: follows, likes, saves, participation, read status, and call dates, durations and connection status
- Location information: current location you share, event venues, and location needed for check-ins
- Connection and device information: notification tokens and connection or error logs
- Safety and support information: reports, blocks and inquiries
3. How we use information
We use information to authenticate users, manage accounts, provide posts, chat, calls, communities and events, manage audiences and access, deliver notifications, improve content ordering and usability, prevent misuse, respond to reports, investigate problems, and respond to inquiries and requests under applicable law.
4. Sharing and notifications
Profiles and posts are displayed according to the nature of the feature and the selected audience. Chat text and attachments are shared with the conversation’s participants.
Notification delivery services may process sender names, excerpts of messages, and URLs used to retrieve sender images. Notifications may appear on lock screens, depending on the recipient’s device settings.
Recipients may save or share information outside Noah. Check the intended audience before sharing your address, contact details or current location.
5. Device permissions
We use the camera, photos, microphone and location as needed for the corresponding features. Where operating-system permission is required, we request it. You can change permissions in device settings. A feature may be unavailable if its required permission is denied.
6. External services and disclosures
We use external services for authentication, storage, notifications and calls. Where processing is entrusted to a provider, we limit it to what is needed for the purpose and exercise the required oversight.
We use LiveKit to provide voice calls and process call audio and information needed for the connection. Traffic may be relayed, and related information processed, outside Japan.
Except for sharing with recipients you choose, entrusted processing, disclosures required by law and similar permitted cases, we do not provide personal data to third parties without consent. We take measures required by applicable law for handling information outside Japan.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain information for as long as needed for its purposes. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or processed so it no longer identifies an individual.
When an account is deleted, we delete or otherwise handle associated information through our established procedures. We may retain information needed for legal compliance, investigations of misuse or disputes, limited to the necessary scope and period.
8. Security
We implement access controls, encrypted communications and other necessary security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure and loss.
9. Minors
Noah is intended for people aged 13 and older. If you are under 18, review this policy with your parent or other legal representative and obtain their permission before use. Where a legal representative’s consent is required for processing personal information, we obtain it through an appropriate method.
10. Access, correction and deletion
Contact us to request access, correction, restriction of use, deletion or other handling of personal information we hold. We respond in accordance with applicable law and may ask you to verify your identity.
11. Changes and contact
We announce changes and their effective dates on our official website or through other appropriate channels. Where consent is required by law, we obtain it.
